2012 has been a year of medals and awards for many people, not least for Bradburys who once again scooped an Olympic number of awards. Parmigiano Reggiano, Old Amsterdam, Buffalo Mozzarella and Iberico all stood at the top of the podium after claiming gold awards.
Many of our cheeses ended up being multi award winning such as Iberico, which ended the year winning 5 awards. Following suit Old Amsterdam claimed 2 golds, 1 bronze, Best Speciality Cheese Yorkshire Show and also was shortlisted as a finalist at the Q Own Label Awards.
In all, our cheeses were awarded with no less than 48 awards including 18 Gold awards.
We are delighted that six Bradburys personnel have achieved NVQ level 3 certificate in Management Development as part of our strategy to continue to invest in our people.
Paul Wardman, Paul Atkin, Asia Buczynska, Jane Marfleet, Steve Hill and Kris Jedynak, were all presented with their NVQ level 3 certificates on Thursday 19th July at a celebration lunch at the Palace Hotel. At a presentation to company directors George Paul, Richard Mostyn-Jones, John Sedman and Stephen Dillon with Garry Millington the course facilitator from CQM, the team showed the projects they have worked on to recommend improvements in Goods In and also to reduce waste in the Marsden production facility.
They came up with great ideas and some real savings and efficiencies which Bradburys will be looking to implement in the business. The Directors were very impressed with level of work and skills demonstrated from the team and fully supported the future of Business Improvement initiatives for the business in the future.
Richard Mostyn-Jones Managing Director commented "It's vital as a business we invest in our current employees and develop them, this group has shown great aptitude and team work and I’m looking forward to seeing the output from the projects".
Congratulations to: Kris Jedynak, Steve Hill, Paul Atkin, Paul Wardman, Jane Marfleet & Asia Buczynska
From January 30th 2012, Bradbury & Son will undergo a name change to Bradburys. The business is looking to modernise it’s image to reflect the businesses current and future aspirations. The introduction of a brand new logo in the shape of a cheese truckle will mark the transformation. The new logo will feature the strap-line ‘Inspired by cheese’.
Managing director, Richard Mostyn-Jones, said, “We view the cheese business as exciting, innovative and inspiring. Our new company name, logo and fresh business image reflects our business in that we are constantly renewing, modernising and refreshing our operations and business outlook.”
“Bradbury & Son or Bradburys, has been around for 127 years and grown to £90m turnover, it’s survived through rapidly adapting to market conditions. The changes we are about to make reflects our optimism going forward and our commitment to the cheese business”.
“It’s not just a new look that we’ve invested in recently” said Mostyn Jones. “Over the past few years we have invested in people, new products, plant, marketing and distribution. The rebrand also gives us a great platform for the future to communicate our brand outside trade circles, should we wish to.”
Bradbury and Son have had another great year at this year’s International Cheese Awards at Nantwich. We have swept another 14 Gold medals, 7 Silvers and 14 Bronze at the 2011 show at the end of July. The haul includes the coverted ‘Cheese Lover’s Trophy’, judged and presented by the Dairy Crest celebrity – this went to Old Amsterdam and follows it’s supreme champion crown at the Great Yorkshire Show.
The awards come from a range of both British and Continental cheeses from both large and small producers. Full list can be seen below and include awards from our key supply partners.
