Headed up by Shepherds Purse, a family business based in Thirsk, Yorkshire Blue is a multi-award winning blue cheese that has been around for more than 15 years. Buttery, sweet and mild, it makes an ideal introduction to blue cheese.


Known for its soft creamy texture and vibrant buttery taste, Yorkshire Blue is largely distinguishable thanks to its vibrant blue veins.

Handmade and matured over eight weeks, Yorkshire Blue is turned by hand to achieve the lovely blue veining and smooth texture. With age, the flavour deepens and becomes more complex without compromising the mild creaminess that’s helped make it a national favourite. This moist and spreadable cheese can be crumbled or melted into soups, sauces and baking dishes.

Made from unpasteurised cow’s milk, this traditionally handcrafted cheese is available from Bradburys in case sizes of 8 x 100g.

Shepherds Purse has been an award-winning artisan cheese maker since 1987. The family-run business was founded by Judy Bell, who began hand-crafting cheeses on the farmhouse kitchen table. After 25 years, their passion and reputation for quality and flavour remain unrivalled. Launched in 1995, Yorkshire Blue was the first blue cheese to be produced by Sherpherds Purse and the first blue cheese to be made in Yorkshire for 30 years.
